Save & Load Boards
You can save Zenboard board data as .zen files or load them back. This is useful for backups, transferring to another Mac, or sharing your work.
.zen Format (Board File)
.zen is Zenboard’s proprietary board file format. It safely contains all collected card data and canvas layout information.
Save Board
Saves the complete data of your current board as a .zen file. If the board has been saved before, it overwrites the existing file. If it’s the first save, a dialog appears to choose the save location.
Shortcut: Cmd + S
To save with a different name or location, use Cmd + Shift + S (Save As).
Load Board
Open a saved .zen file to restore a board.
Shortcut: Cmd + O
Note: Loading a board completely replaces the current board data with the data from the
.zenfile. If there are unsaved changes, a dialog will prompt you to save first.
Exporting Individual Cards
Copy to Clipboard
Press Cmd + C to copy the selected card’s image to the clipboard. If multiple cards are selected on the canvas, they are copied as a composite image.
Save as File
Right-click → Save to save the card’s content as a file.
