Notch Tray

The Notch Tray is a special form that activates when the sidebar is placed at the top on a Mac with a notch. The sidebar integrates seamlessly into the notch area, giving you instant access to your references without cluttering your screen.

Requirements

  • Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or later)
  • macOS 14.0 (Sonoma) or later
  • Mac model with a notch (MacBook Pro 2021+, MacBook Air 2022+)

How It Works

Hover over the notch and the Zenboard tray smoothly expands. From the tray, you can browse your references and quickly access the canvas.

  1. Hover your mouse over the notch area
  2. Your library smoothly expands
  3. Select the image you need or jump to the canvas
  4. The tray automatically hides when you move away from the notch

Use Cases

Whether you’re designing, coding, or editing video, whenever you need a reference during any creative work, simply hover over the notch. No need to switch apps — it’s an approach that never interrupts your flow.

Macs Without a Notch

On Macs without a notch, Zenboard operates as a menu bar icon. You can also disable the Notch Tray by changing the interface style to Menu Bar in Settings → General.
