Powerful Collection
Zenboard lets you collect references from a variety of sources. Whether it’s a file, image, URL, or text, you can easily add it via drag & drop or the clipboard.
Drag & Drop
File Drop
Drag files from Finder or other apps into Zenboard and cards are automatically created.
- All formats supported: PNG, JPG, as well as animated GIF, WebP, MP4 video, text files, and more.
- Bulk import: Drag multiple files at once to add them all in one go.
- Intuitive feedback: A placeholder appears on drop, and a loading progress indicator shows the status.
Image Drop
Drag images directly from your browser or apps like Pinterest and Eagle into Zenboard.
URL Drop
Drop a URL from the browser address bar or a link into Zenboard, and it will automatically analyze the URL and create a card from the image.
Text Drop
Select text from a webpage or document and drag it into Zenboard to create a text card containing that content.
Clipboard (Copy & Paste)
Collecting is as simple as copy and paste. Just press Cmd + V.
Paste Images
Capture a screenshot or copy an image from another app, then press Cmd + V to instantly add it as a card.
You can even copy multiple images at once and paste them all in one go.
Paste URLs
Copy an image URL (direct URL) or link and press Cmd + V — Zenboard will automatically download and display the image.
No need to manually download and reopen files.
Paste Text
Copy any text or code snippet and press Cmd + V to paste it. A text card is created that you can use like a note.
Add Files
Press Cmd + Shift + O to open the file selection dialog.
Quickly find and multi-select files without needing to open a Finder window.
Sidebar Integration
All of these collection methods work the same way in both the canvas and the sidebar. When you drag or paste into the sidebar, items are added to the end of the list. Auto-scroll is active during dragging for convenient placement.
