Annotation
After capturing a screenshot or opening an image in the Smart Viewer, you can annotate it with shapes, arrows, text, and more before saving.
Tools
Seven annotation tools are available from the toolbar:
| Tool | Description |
|---|---|
| Rectangle | Draw rectangular outlines |
| Circle | Draw circular / elliptical outlines |
| Line | Draw straight lines |
| Arrow | Draw arrows with directional heads |
| Freehand | Draw freely with a pen stroke |
| Text | Place text labels on the image |
| Mosaic | Pixelate an area to hide sensitive content |
Drawing
- Select a tool from the toolbar
- Click and drag on the image to draw
- Release to finish the annotation
For Text, click on the image to place a text cursor, type your text, then click elsewhere or press Esc to commit.
For Mosaic, drag over the area you want to pixelate. The area is filled with a blocky pixelation effect.
Color & Line Width
- 9 colors available: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Gray, White, Black
- Line width: Adjustable from 1px to 15px using the slider
- Default: Red, 3px
Changes apply to the next annotation you draw. Existing annotations are not affected.
Undo / Redo
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
Cmd + Z | Undo the last annotation |
Cmd + Shift + Z | Redo |
Up to 50 states are kept in the undo history.
Animated Image Editing
When annotating an animated image (GIF or WebP), the animation pauses on the current frame so you can draw precisely. The annotated result is saved as a new static image card.
Saving
When you’re done annotating, all annotations are permanently rendered onto the image and saved to your chosen destination — Sidebar, Clipboard, or Folder.
